SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM FOR KIDS AND SPECIAL EVENING PROGRAMS FOR TWEENS, TEENS, AND ADULTS IN JULY

MONDAY PERFORMERS/PROGRAMS

THE FOLLOWING MONDAY PROGRAMS BEGIN AT 1:00 p.m

July 21st  –  JEREMY PROVOST – Illustrator Listen to a real live published illustrator talk about the books he’s illustrated, read a book he’s illustrated, and use his talent to make his illustrations come to life right before your very eyes. Amazing!  MR. PROVOST WILL ALSO HAVE AN ILLUSTRATION PROGRAM FOR TWEENS AND TEENS ON THIS EVENING AT 6:30 p.m.

FOR TWEENS, TEENS AND ADULTS

July 21 at 6:30 p.m: Jeremy Provost--Illustration Workshop. Jeremy is a published illustrator and will show the step-by-step process of working on children's illustrations, from storyboard to final art. He'll storyboard with tweens and teens and have them create an illustration of their own. Anyone wanting to bring out or enhance their artistic story-telling abilities will want to be here. Recommended for age 9 and up, tweens and teens.

July 24 at 6:30 p.m: Hunger Games Show Down. Show off your knowledge of the Hunger Games trilogy. Form a team (up to five people on a team), dress as your favorite characters, if you'd like, and be the quickest to buzz in the answers to questions about the book series before time runs out. Compete to win the unique "Summer Game Show 2014" trophy and a special team prize. Register your team by July 18th.

Note: If you need accommodations to attend these programs, please call 764-8102 two weeks in advance.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR ADULTS

The Summer Reading Program is not just for kids! Deerfield Public Library is also holding an Adult Summer Reading Program (for readers ages 18 and up) from mid-June through the end of August! In addition to reading—which is a reward in and of itself, we know—participants can take part in book reviews and games, and there will be monthly drawings for fabulous swag. Upon registration, you will be given a packet of information with the details of the program. If you have any questions, please contact your friendly library staff. Hope to see you during Registration Week!

WE HAVE "BEST-LOVED BOOKS IN DEERFIELD" BOOKMARKS!

In February, the library introduced the "LOVE BOARD" made especially for patrons to write down and share their favorite books (fill out a heart with title and author of a book you love and put it on the board). From all the hearts that were on the Love Board, we created a list of best-loved books in Deerfield and turned that into bookmarks! One bookmark has the list of adult and young adult favorites, and another has the list of juvenile favorites. You can never have enough bookmarks, right? And you may find something to add to your OWN reading list. Add these special bookmarks to your collection!
