LIBRARY NEWS

JAZZ IN THE LIBRARY

This year, twelve Dane County libraries will partner with the Greater Madison Jazz Consortium to offer three different programs about jazz. CLICK HERE to watch a trailer introducing the series, which promises to be fantastic. Here in Deerfield, we are featuring Jazz in Exile, Madison filmmaker Chuck France’s documentary on the exodus of African American jazz musicians to Europe, the reasons for the migration, and how it affected the musicians and the music itself. A short Q & A with France will follow the film.

Join us on Monday, April 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the library!

WORM RACE 2015!

Earth worm pictureIt's raining, it's pouring--which means the worms are coming out to play and heading over to the library for this year's Worm Race! We'll be welcoming them inside and keeping them here until the big day -- April 23 at 6:30p.m. New this year is the opportunity to bring in your own worm! We will still have worms to choose from at the library, but this year anyone who would like to "train" and bring in their own worm to race can do so. You may bring in any worm (not snake) that resides in Deerfield. Nothing larger than a nightcrawler, please!

Please stop in or call to sign up for this fun annual event. No experience necessary, just a desire to race worms and cheer them on.

2014 TAX FORM NEWS

If you are - or know - one of those folks who rely on the library for copies of federal tax forms, we've got some important news. Due to budget cutbacks, the IRS will NOT be sending us any instruction booklets this year. We usually get them for the 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ. You'll have to order them direct from the federal government this year or download them - and if you need help navigating the Internet to get those forms, we can help. We'll stock state tax forms as usual. If you have any questions, please call!
